TYPO Labs is a Type conference that happens in Berlin and the last edition was under the topic How far can we go?
I gave a lecture introducing the HT LetterSpacer and I offered a workshop to help users get acquainted with the tool.
Under the tittle: HT LetterSpacer: Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Automatic Spacing But Were Afraid to Ask, I graphically explained the basic ideas behind the method, its origins, its advantages and examples of use.
HT LetterSpacer is a tool for spacing fonts, that works on finished fonts as well as during development. It was developed by Andrés Torresi and is a tool that we use in our daily work in the process of designing typefaces.
You can watch the lecture here and read more about the conference here.
And… yes, the conference was housed in a renovated late-nineteenth-century church in Berlin.
